Sorry for my limited presence lately. I have been dealing with personal issues.

I understand that the flow of “new members registered” updates on the main page was drowning everything else. I have made some code change and it should filter out these messages from now on. I will keep checking to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

Sometimes it is hard to tell a real account from a bot. Especially when they don’t post anything. They could just be someone who wants to visit the site but have nothing to post yet. Still, I have reviewed the logs and updated my blacklist of obvious spam domains I found. This should cut down on possible bots registration.

I am still around, I’m not dead. 🙂

One of these days I plan to completely rewrite the code from scratch. I am currently using a mix of community code and premium modules but they don’t completely satisfy me. I wish the stories section and the forum were more robust. This code is also bloated with features we don’t really want and as such it is heavy on resources. This is why we have the Cloudflare protection page up. It is too easy for botnets to attack. A more efficient website might not need such a protection. 🙂

I hope you are all in good health and handling the quarantine well. It sucks being stuck inside but at least we can be naked all the time. 😉
